Squirrels Guesthouse Terms & Conditions

We look forward to welcoming you to Squirrels Llangollen. When you make your booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Arrival and Departure
Check in is available from 3.00pm to 7.00pm (15:00 to 19:00) on the day of arrival. Check-in times outside of those specified must be confirmed with us prior to arrival.
We ask that you please vacate your room by 10.am (10:00) on the morning of departure. We have a busy cleaning schedule and need access to the room after this time.

Housekeeping
Daily housekeeping takes place between 10:00 and 11:30 each morning. If we are unable to access your room during that time, housekeeping services will be limited.

Reservations, payments and cancellations
Please note the cancellation policy before committing to a reservation.

Cancellation Policy
Please confirm your cancellation by email to kath@squirrelsllangollen.co.uk, by phone, not answerphone, or in writing. If we do not acknowledge receipt of your cancellation, you will be charged payment in full.
All standard bookings made are subject to the following terms and conditions:

For bookings up to 2 nights – If your booking is cancelled or modified up to 9 days before date of arrival, 100 % of the first night will be charged. If your booking is cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Days are counted from the official check-in time on day of arrival (3.00pm).

For bookings 3 nights or more – If your booking is cancelled or modified up to 14 days before date of arrival, 100 % of the first two nights will be charged. If your booking is cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Days are counted from the official check-in time on day of arrival (3.00pm).

However, we understand circumstances and plans can change. If you have to cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible. We will always try to resell the room(s) again and if successful, will issue a refund for nights resold. If your stay is for multiple nights and the cancellation notice you give falls partly within your stay, we may issue a part refund.
In certain circumstances we may offer you a credit for a future stay
For non-refundable bookings – full payment will be taken at the time of booking and no refunds will be given if cancelled.

We reserve the right to charge your card, in the event of a no-show or should the booking be cancelled. By entering into this contract you are authorising us to make these charges without additional consent being required.

If you need to amend your booking after check-in, to terminate your stay, the total charge for your stay will still be due.
For direct bookings made with us – In order for us to confirm a reservation, payment is usually required in full at the time of booking. If payment is not received as rearranged, we will contact you and have the right to cancel your reservation.
For bookings made online – or via online travel agents may be subject to differing terms and conditions in force at the time of booking. This is to protect your security in carrying out the booking and providing credit card details over the internet. Please note that any refunds will be processed by the on-line agent and not Squirrels Guesthouse.

Any additional charges incurred during your stay at the property should be settled with us before departure.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any travel insurance cover you have provides adequate cover for your needs and for the duration of your stay. If you cancel your booking, you will be asked to contact your insurance provider so we kindly suggest ensure you have some in place before making your reservation.

Guest Registration
For guests not booked in advance we are required by law to collect the information below. We do this by asking you to complete a registration form on arrival.

  • Name, address and contact details
  • For overseas guests – Name, address, nationality, passport number, address of next destination

Cancellation by Us
Should it become necessary for us to cancel your booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments made will be refunded in full. Should you wish to, we will attempt to book you into comparable alternative accommodation. Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

Car Parking
Parking is provided on our private carpark. Parking is available for one car per room. Cars parked are at owners risk. We cannot accommodate large 4×4 cars or larger vans. Only direct bookings with Squirrels will guarantee you a space. Bookings made with 3rd party booking agents will not guarantee you a space.

Change of Room
If a booking is taken for a specific room and the room is not suitable due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to transfer the booking to an alternative room of similar quality. We will always endeavour to contact you first. All of our rooms are of the same quality.

Damage and Breakages
Please take care as you are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you may cause to the building or its contents. Please report any issues as soon as they occur especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly. We reserve the right to charge for all goods where staining or damage cannot be removed or repaired. We reserve the right to charge for all breakages, repair or making good of all damage caused during your stay.

Data
Some of the data gathered during the course of a booking may be held on computer. We would like to hold this data after your visit to be able to inform you of future offers. If you would prefer us not to hold this information please let us know.

Breakfast
Breakfast is pre ordered at Squirrels. Please notify us of any special dietary requirements when you reserve your room and be very clear on allergies. We cannot cater for guests with nut allergies. Breakfast is prepared to order and therefore we require your order by 7 pm the day before. We may not be able to provide items upon immediate request.

Fire Risks
For the comfort of our guests, and to comply with the law, we operate a strict no-smoking and no vaping policy throughout the building and grounds of Squirrels Guesthouse, as these are a fire risk and also invalidate our hotel Insurance. Guests who smoke or use vapes in the room will be asked to leave with no refund. Naked flames such as candle, are strictly prohibited.
All rooms have kettles. Guests should access due care and attention with hot foods and liquids, especially where children are concerned.
Please note that vaporizers and e cigarettes are included in the above smoking policy.

Fire Alarm Test
Our alarm is tested regularly. Should you be on the premises at this time, please evacuate the building as per our procedure.

Keys
You have access to your room 24 hours a day throughout your stay using a set of keys given to you on arrival. You have full responsibility of these keys for the duration of your stay. Please ensure that you return your room key to us at the end of your stay. If you lose or take away a key we will have to change our locks. You will be charged for this.

Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees whilst acting in the course of their employment.
Guests are asked to take care whilst in the garden and walking on paths, especially in wet or icy conditions. Children are to be supervised at all times.

Children
We do not normally accept children under 12 years of age however, please contact us to discuss. Please note children under 18 years of age cannot be accommodated in any of our rooms without an adult present. We would ask you not to leave children under 18 years of age alone in a room whilst you go out as they are not our responsibility and this would pose an issue in the event of a fire or emergency.

Lost Property
We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. However, there will be a minimum charge of £5.00 to cover postage and packaging. You are welcome to pop back and collect any left items.
Missing Items
We reserve the right to charge for missing items.

Payment
Any outstanding payment is due on the morning of departure and we accept cheques, cash, paypal and bank transfer.

Food in rooms
We do not allow food to be consumed in our rooms however, we can provide a table in our dining room upon request. Just ask Kath or Dave who will be happy to assist you.

Pets
Pets are not permitted.

Prices
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time, for example to reflect seasonal variation or special events. This will not affect bookings already made. We reserve the right to impose a 2 or 3 night minimum stay during peak periods.

Termination Policy
Squirrels reserve the right, at its discretion, to terminate, without notice, an individuals stay where deemed necessary through unacceptable behaviour or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others. In such circumstances, no refunds will be made.

Wi-Fi Access
By using our Wi-Fi Service you automatically agree to the terms and conditions of use in force at the time. This is for general, legal access to the internet. Access to illegal websites is prohibited and will be reported.
Whilst we endeavour to ensure the WiFi is working at all times, occasionally it may be unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. WiFi in some areas of the Guesthouse is weak.

Circumstances Beyond Our Control
We cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
These include (but are not limited to) adverse weather conditions, fire, riot, war, terrorist activity (or threat of such activity), industrial dispute, natural disaster, or injuries and death of an individual(s) through accidental circumstances unconnected with Squirrels Guesthouse.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
You acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights (including rights in software), trademarks, database rights, patents and inventions) in and relating to the service are owned by us and our licensors or contractors. Nothing in this agreement operates to transfer any such intellectual property rights to you.
We reserve the right to assign or sub-contract any of our rights and obligations under this agreement without notice to you.
If any provision of this agreement is found to be unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions shall nevertheless remain in full force and effect.
